Label production on manroland small-format presses at Thung Hua Sinn |
The Thung Hua Sinn Group has ordered a six-color ROLAND 200 with a high-pile delivery and a five-color ROLAND 200 for label production.
Thailand’s printing industry has experienced strong growth in recent years, driven by orders for packaging from Hong Kong, Singapore, Japan, China and Australia. One of the country’s competitive advantages is modern printing technology. This is confirmed by Ananchat Tungkasemwattana, Managing Director of the Thung Hua Sinn Group in Bangkok, one of Thailand’s leading packaging printers: “We are committed to excellence in our products, our technology, and our staff development.” A result of this quality philosophy is the investment in two ROLAND 200 printing systems for the company’s new location in Chacheongsao, around 50 kilometers from Bangkok. The new presses will be installed in autumn 2009 to produce mainly short-run label jobs. “What we need are short makeready times and outstanding print quality,” reports Ananchat Tungkasemwattana: “The experience we have had with manroland presses and manroland service in our packaging printing plant Thung Hua Sinn Printing Networks made our decision for the ROLAND 200 an easy one.” Three ROLAND 700 printing systems are in production at Thung Hua Sinn Printing Networks.The Thung Hua Sinn Group was founded in 1953 and prints mainly labels and packaging at two locations. Besides sheetfed offset production at the Thung Hua Sinn and Thung Hua Sinn Printing Networks facilities, TPN FlexPak, TPN FoodPak and TPN Medical Pak have flexo and gravure equipment that produce among other things bags and packaging for food and pharmaceuticals. The Group is looked after by the newly-established manroland branch office in Bangkok.
Flexible coating enhancement with the ROLAND 200
The six-color ROLAND 200 is equipped with a 900 millimeters high-pile delivery and ROLAND InlineCoater smart which recently won the 2009 German Printing Industry Innovation Award. Both of these features boost the all-round capabilities of this small-format press. Just like the high-pile configuration, the five-color ROLAND 200 is equipped for the short makeready times demanded. Automatic plate change with EPL™ (Ergonomic Plate Loading), fully-automated cloth-type washing systems, ink slide presetting with PressManager smart, and easy-to-clean ink fountains with a special coating all contribute to reducing makeready times.
